While you wait for the release of Resident Playbook, a new Hospital Playlist spin-off Kdrama, here is your introduction to the main cast lineup of this Netflix series.
The newly released Resident Playbook posters gives us a glimpse into the daily struggles of the drama’s main characters.
Oh Yi Young (Go Youn Jung) – A newcomer to the medical field, Yi Young is still figuring out how to survive as a resident. In her poster, she is seen packing her belongings, desperate to leave work on time.
Kim Sa Bi (Han Ye Ji) – She seems to be the one who loves books more than other things. Her poster reads: “But Professor… in terms of medical facts, nothing I said was wrong?”— this shows that she is someone who struggles keeping balance between real world knowledge and bookish knowledge.
Pyo Nam Kyung (Shin Si Ah) – Known for her fashion sense, Nam Kyung values her appearance just as much as her job. Even in the midst of a hectic schedule, she finds time to touch up her makeup.
Um Jae Il (Kang You Seok) – He appears most anxious among all the other members of the cast in this poster. Jae Il”s poster read: “Professor, I’m sorry for calling you for the 15th time already.”
Helping these four young residents is a fourth-year resident Gu Do Won (Jung Joon Won), who appears to be their mentor. In the official poster, Do Won can be seen standing in the background, carrying four cups of coffee.
Unlike typical medical dramas that focus on impressive surgeries and feature not so easy to understand medical terms, Resident Playbook Kdrama is expected to take a more heartfelt and relatable approach. The show promises to capture the small yet significant moments that make hospital life both rewarding and overwhelming.
