Netflix’s upcoming historical Kdrama “Dear Hongrang,” is all set to premiere next month. The mysterious drama features the return of Lee Jae Wook with Jo Bo Ah.
Set in the Joseon era, the story of Dear Hongrang Kdrama revolves around Hong Rang (played by Lee Jae Wook), a young man who vanishes as a child. He returns after twelve years, but without a single memory of his past. He belongs to a powerful Min Merchant Guild family. While the rest of the family welcomes him with open arms, one person remains unconvinced: his stepsister, Jae Yi (Jo Bo Ah).
She’s not just suspicious, she’s haunted by questions. Is this really her long-lost brother, or has someone cunningly stepped into his place to seize power?
The drama’s teaser and poster hints that it will explore several questions like, Why did Hong Rang disappear? What horrors did he face in that shadowy forest from his childhood? And most importantly—what has he become?
One of the big reasons for Jae Yi’s suspicion is her nature. She doesn’t trust easily. Over the years, countless imposters tried to claim her brother’s name, hoping to gain control of the merchant guild’s massive fortune. So when the real Hong Rang—or someone who looks exactly like him—walks in, her heart hesitates. What if this stranger is just another fraud?
